Day 1

Yes, it’s been awhile, I know. Lately our minds have been elsewhere, and we just haven’t found the time to update our blog. We left off at Munich. This means I haven’t posted P’s 8 month or even 9 month information…sad. Maybe we’ll get back to that when we get back from our vacation. That’s right, we’re on vay-cay! I thought we could try to keep the world(or at least our 4 readers) up to date with our travels. Currently we are in Barcelona, Spain-OLЀ!

Yesterday, we left our house at 8:30am and headed to the NÜrnberg Airport. Our flight left at 11:45am. It was just a quick hour long flight to Amsterdam. Penelope was an angel until we landed. While the plane was taxiing to our gate, she got bored and screamed and cried…loudly. Everyone in front of us(basically every passenger on the plane since we were in the very last row-lovely) looked back at us and gave us the stink eye. We were only slightly embarrassed, and Devon and I reminded each other that it could have been worse, like she could have cried during the entire flight, people!

Anyway, we had a short layover then we were back on a plane for a two hour flight to Barcelona. This time there were no tears. Yay! Happy baby, happy parents.  J

Thankfully all of the luggage made it! By the time we made it to our hotel it was 6:30pm. We were starving so we had tapas for dinner. Yummy! We went to bed early since we were tired from traveling.

Day 2

Ready for a full day in Barcelona

Today was full of walking. Our hotel is on the outskirts of town so we had to walk quite a bit to get to the main city center. Once we found our way, we headed for the Barcelona Aquarium. We think Penelope enjoyed it; however Devon and I were not impressed at all. After visiting the aquarium in Darling Harbor (Sydney, Australia), this one seemed lame.  It took us only 20 minutes to see all of the exhibits. Oh well, at least there was AC.

Afterwards, P and I went on a carousel! That was definitely worth 2.50€. We both had fun. J

For lunch we ate right on the harbor. I ordered Sangria and Gazpacho.  This was my first experience with gazpacho, and I need to remember that I don’t like it. Penelope, however, thought it was tasty! Not only did we let her eat gazpacho, but while we walked by the beach she had some of my ice cream. Lucky little baby.

Devon is really enjoying Spain. He has been very comfortable speaking to the locals. His 2 years of Spanish classes have been serving us well. Today we needed help with directions, and the people have been very accommodating and friendly. We put Penelope in our Kelty pack and when people notice that she’s in it, they give her the biggest smile. She just loves all the attention. She smiles right back, and waves to them. Everywhere she goes she brings joy.

Right now we are back in our hotel room. Devon is snoozing, and Ms. P is playing with her feet…such a cutie!

Tomorrow is day 1 of our cruise. We can’t wait! Assuming that we will have wifi, we're hoping to update tomorrow so come back and visit.
